I was commissioned by Soho House to create a temporary art installation as part of their initiative to highlight a local artist in celebration of Atlanta Art Week. For this project, I expanded upon a previous body of work, bringing Form 1.B to a larger scale. The installation, reflective of my signature minimalist style, explores the dynamic interplay between structure and space. Set within The Goat Farm Art Center’s industrial setting aplified the contrast between the artwork's geometric precision and the organic surroundings.

Installation Description:

Inspired by a story from my childhood, Shift reflects nature's dynamic power. During my formative years in the Philippines, life was profoundly impacted by the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo, one of the most powerful eruptions of the 20th century. With little warning, a mass evacuation of my home took place as ash-filled skies turned day into night. In the aftermath of the eruption, fertile soil and hidden treasures emerged, revealing the beauty that arises from chaos. Shift explores this theme through a minimal and contemplative approach.

A Place to Call Home is a play on words reflecting both my personal search for grounding through my art and the shared philosophy of Soho House. The philosophy of creating a home anywhere in the world resonates with me deeply, as both meanings capture the essence of finding belonging and solace in spaces that inspire creativity and connection.
