Cast-001

Land Art
Year of creation: 2025
Material: Concrete, Resin
Dimensions: 18” x 24” x 4”
Location: The Goat Farm Arts Center, Atlanta, GA, USA

CAST-001 introduces a subtle but intentional contrast within the existing landscape of The Goat Farm’s gravel garden. Positioned among the concrete seating blocks, the piece extends their material language while introducing a new variable—light. The concrete base anchors the work, aligning with the industrial remnants of the site, while the resin panel interacts with natural light, casting a faint pink hue onto the surrounding gravel.

The segmented resin plane faces east/west, responding to the sun’s movement throughout the day. At certain angles, the interaction between the transparent surface and the white-grey gravel creates a barely perceptible shift—color appearing where it otherwise wouldn’t. Though small in scale, CAST-001 is less about monumentality and more about observation, an object meant to be seen in passing yet altered by time, light, and position.
